Great cruise

Sail Date: March 2013
Destination: Southern Caribbean
Embarkation: Miami

This was our first cruise and we did not know what to expect, worried that 11 days would be too long. We could have stayed longer. Our trips usually consisted of skiing trips so this was different. The ship was a nice size not too big and it allowed for many things to do. Definitively would recommend a Balcony as it permits privacy and allows you to take magnificent pictures of sunrise and sunset without having to go to the public area.
For value the ship is a very good choice, it has many places where you can opt from the crowd or if you want you can sit next to the pool and join the more lively area.
The casino was great we are not gamblers but it has a nice choice of slot machines.
The shows are good and offers a variety , some of the activities at night are also very entertaining.
Many bars and lounges to choose from with a variety of different music something for everyone
The shore excursion are to be studied we took 3 and one was very good being the More Castaway girl, if you like being on a catamaran. They do offer the back up security of being recommended by the ship so for some it has the security features, they are a bit pricey, we did a couple on our own and that was good but we did feel more secure with the shore excursions that the ship offered.
The variety of food was good but we would say the food was inconsistent, but we are very picky eaters so for the value and money this was very good
Very efficient in and out of ports same goes with embarkation and disembarkation
Plenty of food and lots of choices, the quality would range from average to better depending on the night. One nice thing they had pool buffet and one night at the casino there was a small buffet which was very nice.
We have to give an extra plus for all the staff training they are very courteous and the service everywhere was top notch.
We found the service at the restaurant to be superior to many nice restaurants that you would find on land.
All in all a surprising great vacation we would definitively sail with ncl again
and cruising is now our vacation of choice. Less

Cabin review: Norwegian Sun Oceanview Stateroom with Balcony Pool Deck

Mid ship cabin, plenty of storage, nice space, great balcony. Very quiet, great view from the balcony. Bathroom had everything you need, nice shower and again plenty of storage.

Port and Shore Excursions

Snorkeling

We did the De palma snorkeling, we did not snorkel the waves were too choppy for us but many did snorkel, so maybe the snorkeling was great, this is private island and we expected nice beaches it turned out very commercialized beach not very sandy maybe would appeal to families it had a play area for the young one that looked like it could be fun. For us our expectations were different so it did not fit us too well.

Loved Curacao beautiful island this was one of our favorite spot

It rained the day that we were there we too a taxi to Marigot and then we went to the dutch side which was very nice, wish we could have had more time to explore.
