We took a charter bus from Naples, Fl. to Lauderdale. The ride was nice and the passengers got to know each other very quickly. However,we found that the authorities at Ft. Lauderdale have changed the traffic pattern for buses getting to the ship's location. Our driver was redirected twice to the end of a long line of cars and buses. It took her almost 1.5 hours to let us off the bus even though we passed the ship twice. Someone at the port needs to rethink this traffic pattern. Once at the ship embarkation was easy and we were aboard after about 30 minutes. It is always nice to be greeted as you board and we found this even more delightful as we were greeted by some crew members who remembered us from previous cruises. It was like coming home. We went to the library and to the buffet to kill some time. We got to our cabin about 1:30 and found it perfectly turned out. Our room steward (Sheawn) was just great the entire cruise. We settled in, drank some wine, and before too long all of our luggage was delivered. We were all set before the safety drill. Well done Celebrity!

We ate in the main dining room and also in Murano's (4 nights)and Tuscan (1). The food everywhere was terrific and the service efficient. We found that all the staff we interacted with on this cruise were very friendly, greeted us with a smile and helped us with any requests-quickly and professionally. As I have a back problem we did not "do" any touring or excursions but our fellow passengers told us they enjoyed their trips. The entertainment on the ship is terrific. The only exception was the overly loud music all around the ship. Rather than being entertaining, it was intrusive. This was especially noticeable in the Tuscan restaurant. The service there was excellent and the food was as well. However the music piped in made as long for Murano's. If this is a fleet wide decision, as we have heard, Celebrity had best rethink this idea. In the same line, when we were docked in St. John's, a 5 man band started at 8am to pound out some terrible, loud, imitation Caribbean "music?" They banged on drums all day-8 am to 4 pm. It was like some kind of psychological warfare weapon to get us to leave the ship. The Cruise people say that it is the port authorities that have control of this. I say the cruise line should use its influence to get this stopped. Fortunately this was the only port where this happened.

With that said, I have to say that we had another great trip. Perry Grant was and is the best entertainer on these ships. Once you have been "perryfied" you will know what I mean. As we got off the ship we had to wait over 2 hours to get through customs and almost missed our bus. Thank you politicians! We recommend celebrity to all and have 4 more cruises booked.
