This was our 4th Cruise the 3 previous were all Royal Caibbean. The booking went smoothly but we only found out our flight details 3 weeks prior to departure.
Embarkation went relatively smoothly, about and hour from arrival at the port to being in our cabin and this was about 1300 hrs local time. Amazingly our cases beat us to the room, well done.
First impressions of the boat were lovely, it was a comparable size to the RCCL boats that we have sailed on but more modern and much more stylish and very clean.
The Cabin was lovely and the cabin attendant did a marvellous job without us seeing him, amazing as we often popped back at odd times.
We had a 6 year old with us and he absolutely loved the mini club which had a varied programme that he really enjoyed.
I was caught out in that we do not tip on this cruise line although we did drop a few members of staff a small tip for good service.
Now the down side. The food was always cold and although we love Italian it was bland and repetitive. Very little choice other than pasta, pizza or burgers. Plenty of fresh fruit and salad.
The main restaurant in the evening did do some nicer dishes but in no way comparable to RCCL.
We signed up to the Allegrissimo drinks package, draught beer wine by the glass and many cocktails, we thought it was good value but I defy anyone to get drunk on their cocktail's as they had little alcohol in them but they did taste nice!
Staff in the bars were either miserable and slow or very good. The good ones tended to be from nepal and the far east. Our main dining waiter and asst were hard working but did get it wrong quite frequently, possibly english was a bad language for them so this isnt a complaint as they always did their best to rectify any problem.
The Gym was only moderately equipped and would fill up quickly. My wife wasnt impressed with the slot machines in the Casino despite being a few euros up after a week.
Disembarkation was as smooth as embarkation so again well done.
Overall a good cruise spoilt by food and too many staff being sullen and not caring. Unfortunately although good value we will be returning to RCCL with our money.
