We just returned from cruising the western Caribbean on board the Carnival Liberty. We had a great cruise as far as the ship, crew and dining were concerned. We unfortunately had horrible weather from day one. We were unable to make our 3rd stop in Mahagony Bay Honduras due to rough seas - this was very disappointing but impossible to control. We also had very rough weather on our 2nd stop in Belize, it was a tender stop on very rough seas so we chose to stay on board. Cozumel and Grand Caymen were both great stops. We had several days of strong wind and rain - and the best part was how the crew came to our rescue. Cruise director Troy kept all of us busy with many options. We had a rainy day movie in the Venetian Lounge on the big screen - popcorn and all. It was all done on the spur of the moment and with great service. The ship was beautiful, clean and very state of the art. Our room steward (Rizki), was so great! He knew and remembered our names from the first introduction. He was funny and caring and made our time more enjoyable just because of him. Our head waiter, Gede, was awesome and his team - Roderick and Irbeen were top notch. The food was very good and always plentiful and the Diamond Steakhouse was fantastic.
I am not sure what anyone could complain about on this cruise ship - if not for the weather this would have been perfect. The amenities were very good - fitness studio had a lot to offer with new equipment and lots of classes.
Also - we had connecting ocean view rooms that were a very good size and the beds were really comfy!
