Ship Facts: Celebrity Eclipse Review (by Cruise Critic!) | Celebrity Eclipse Deck Plans
Beautiful Cruise on Eclipse
This was our first cruise on Eclipse but we are veterans with 27 cruises under our belt and another one coming up next month.

We had a great time with our friends whom we have been cruising with for years. We feel we are easy to please and don't let little things bother us. it makes for a much happier cruise.

Our stateroom was located mid-ship on deck 8 and easy to get to anyplace we wanted to go to. It was very clean and the room steward kept us well supplied and the room was always tidy. Our only problem was that he kept forgetting to leave us our drink vouchers (Elite) but that problem was solved easily enough.

We had Select Dining at around 8:15 and ended up with the same waiter on most nights. He was excellent as was the assistant.

We used the dining room most times for breakfast, sometimes used the Aqua Cafe and also the Ocean View. We eventually decided the Ocean View was just too conjested with passengers wandering around looking for tables. No major complaints though. the menu selections were very nice and the only thing I really didn't like was the flounder, which was yucky. We loved Bistro on 5.

The entertainment was enjoyable. We only missed one show. We had our evening drinks up on the top deck (can't remember the name of the room) but it is the one where Perry Grant performs. We stayed several times to watch him and always enjoy seeing him and hearing him. He is definitely "one of a kind."

As far as the ports go, we could easily skip Grenada and Curacao, having been there many, many times we would love to see both ports exchanged for maybe St. Croix, St. Barts, Guadeloupe, Martinique or any other port other than Jamaica. We always take a cab or bus to a beach. We did take a long tour on St. Lucia which was nice. We had a large cruise credit to spend.

Getting off the ship in Fort Lauderdale was horrible. It took us 2 hours of standing in line before we finally got to Customs. I believe it is a result of Sequestration and the cutbacks. We had no trouble finding a cab to the airport but once there it was another 90 minutes of standing in line to the Homeland Security stations. Our flight was delayed for a few hours and we finally got back here at 1am, totally exhausted. Would be do it again? Absolutely!!! In a heartbeat. We love Celebrity and are totally loyal to them. The Elite benefits are great and we took advantage of them.
