My wife and I took our daughter and a friend on a 5-day spring break cruise on the Carnival Fascination. We had been on three prior Carnival Cruises but not on this partivular ship. Having read the reviews we had mixed feelings about being on an older (though recently refurbished) ship.

I must say that we were all pleasantly surprised. While the state rooms were a little smaller than what we had been used to on our prior seven cruises they were neat, clean and comfortable. The public areas of the ship were very nice and the various bars and other entertaining areas were active and fun. Having cruised seven times before we were all pleasantly surprised at the nightly shows on the ship. The Divas and Motor City reviews were very good as were the adult comedians in the late night shows. We enjoyed the shows very much as did our daughter and her friend who are both 19.

The food on the ship was very good with lots of options during the day and late into the evening. We had dinner (open dining) in the main dining room every night and the selection and quality of food was very good, with the exception of one night. The third night of the cruise was obviously an off day for the kitchen as everything that we tied was just "not good".
