Our party of four arrived in San Juan on 2/08/2013 for a 2/10/2013 sailing on AOS. We spent two nights at the Caribe Hilton which is overrated and overpriced. We arrived at the dock at 12:15 and found the embarkation lines a little long, but not too bad. To our delight and amazement, we were sitting on the ship having a cocktail at 12:50. We were in our cabin promptly at 2:00 and had all our luggage by 2:30. Outstanding efficiency!
This was the first time that we had sailed on a larger class ship, and we were a little leery of the larger size and crowds. However, by day two, we were loving it. Everybody had a smile on their face and treated us as if we were their long lost friends. We ate at the 8:30PM seating in the main dining room (table #484). Our wait staff, Ethel and Marie were not only efficient, but were delightful. We have been on 6 previous cruises on four different cruise lines. This was definitely the most enjoyable, and just what we needed. Less
