Carnival Victory 5 nt Bahama cruise

Sail Date: March 2013
Destination: Bahamas
Embarkation: Miami

Just returned from a 5-night Bahama cruise aboard the Carnival Victory. We left from Miami Mar. 4th and returned Mar 9th. This was a great cruise. There were 9 of us and we can't believe how smooth things went. We have sailed Carnival before and expected a good cruise, but we got an outstanding one!! The food in the main restaurant was excellent, service a little slow, but great food and very personable service. the Lido buffet was very good as well.

As with most ships, the rooms were a bit small, but clean and our cabin stewart was on top of things. The attitude from the entire staff was extremely refreshing. The staff were helpful and all had a smile & greeting for everyone they encountered. I haven't seen this in any of our 4 previous cruises.

The shows were top notch. Entertainers are professional quality and I would recommend seeing as many of them as you can. There's a very active Piano bar ( with someone playing musin nightly ) and a hopping More casino.

The stops were just right for us. We hit Nassua ( with Atlantis ), the private island Half Moon Cay and Grand Turk. Each stop has enough to do, although we enjoyed the beach. If your lloking for a short, relaxing cruise from Miami, this one will do you just fine. Less

Cabin review: Carnival Victory Balcony Upper 6209

Room was small, but clean. We weren't spending alot of time there, so I can't complain. We all had balcony rooms, where the view & balcony was excellent.

Port and Shore Excursions

Grand Turk has a small shopping village alongside Margarita ville, which is the ONLY source of food or drink on the island. Not one shop sold soda, snacks or anything other than extremely overpriced T-shirts & sportswear. Other than the beach, which was nice, there is margarita ville & drinking only. This stop was the only place that didn't charge any of us up.

Half Moon Cay has BEAUTIFUL beaches. This is a private island with food provided by the ship. Need to relax ? This is the perfect place to enjoy warm waters and clean water.

Nassau has a lot of excursions and all moderately priced. We spent the day at the Atlantis resort and had a nice time there. The locals are very friendly, car service and tours are available at a great price. You can save a few dollars booking your tours directly rather than on the ship.
