We traveled on the Legend from Tampa to Cozumel, Belize, Mahogany Bay and Grand Cayman. My husband and I went with our 4.5 year old son. Overall, the cruise was great, food was good to very good, staff was excellent and friendly, and entertainment was good. There were plenty of things to do on the ship like the casino, spa, fitness club, pool, water slide and much more.
The ports were good but I didn't feel like there was a lot to do in Belize unless you booked an excursion. We just went to the port area and shopped a little. There were 4 boats in that day and it was very very crowded. We were gonna stop and get a bite to eat but there was no place to go. We talked to people who did the cave tubing and loved it.
We ate at the Steakhouse one night and it was fantastic. Also, the food in the main dining room was very good and they offered steak and shrimp every night. We had lobster too on the first formal night. The buffet was hit or miss but had plenty of options. If you want formal pictures, they have photographers and backdrops set up every night, but more avail on the formal nights. You don't have to buy them unless you want to. They will take them for free. The only negative thing I have to say about the cruise is that the balcony doors slam hard. We paid a fair amount extra for a balcony only to be woke up every morning but the people above us letting the balcony door slam multiple times starting at 0600. Our whole room shook. I think Carnival needs to put different closers on these doors to try and slow them down before they close. Or ask people to please hold onto them so they shut slower. Next cruise we go on, I will not be getting a balcony room unless they fix the doors. But, if you are a sound sleeper, it probably won't bother you.
