Ship Facts: Monarch of the Seas Review (by Cruise Critic!) | Monarch of the Seas Deck Plans
First Time Fever
This was my boyfriend and my first ever cruise, and to say that it had me totally hooked would be putting it lightly. The only complaint That we had was that it was only 4 nights. All of our future cruises will be at least 6 nights.

Embarkation day went smoothly. We waited in a line for about 30 minutes and we were on the ship. Luggage delivered to our room promptly at the stated time. The WIndjammer cafe was serving lunch..it was a bit hectic with everyone trying to figure things out but were pretty easy going and we didnt mind.

CoCo Cay was our first stop. This was my favorite port of call. Im the type of person who likes to lounge around and read in the sun, beside the waves. We also snorkeled here and were surprised how much beautiful sea life we saw. We swam pretty far out (15 ft or so) and were even pleasantly surprised by a 15 foot manatee, he was cute and friendly. The lunch was a BBq style on the island included in the cruise cost. It was good but the sea gulls were quite annoying, but the cruise line cant do anything about that. There were many activities that you could purchase here but we decided to keep it free and clear, however the snorkel gear costed around thirty bucks a piece. The beach was beautiful and the water was crystal clear even in the far deep parts.

Nassau, Bahamas was our second and last port of call. We opted to get off the boat and catch our own cab ride over to paradise island/Atlantis..I strongly recommend that anyone wanting to go to Atlantis catch their own cab instead of going with the people from the boat in the pre-cruise planned excursion. The cab ride was 8 bucks there and back for me and my boyfriend. Also we went into Atlantis and bought the aquarium, casino, waterpark and beaches pass.. it ended up being about 80 dollars cheaper than what we would have paid if we bought the excursion on the ship. We bought lunch at the little grille/restaurant they had inside the Atlantis water park. It was a little expensive to me but it was good and tasty. bout 30 bucks for two chicken sandwiches two fries two drinks and a hot dog. But it held us over until dinner that night. The beach right outside the water park was beautiful. HUGE waves.

On the days at sea we lounged by the pool, drank yummy beverages, and visited the casino. It was still fun even though this is a smaller ship.

The food to us was excellent. We ate at the main dining room every night. We didnt discover until the last two days that if you wanted seconds you could ask for them..at no additional charge. Our dining room attendants were great..so amazing and helpful. We had my time dining and ate around 7 every night at a table to ourselves. We ate at the windjammer only on the formal night...but it was always good so we didnt have any problem with that. We only ate the windjammer for breakfast, never the main room and it was great..fruit was fresh and crisp and to me thats a biggie. I was pleasantly surprised with the whole buffet.

Stateroom and attendant. we were on the 4th floor in a ocean view cabin. It was small but expected it to be. Our attendant was great and saw to our every need. We even ended up tipping him alot extra.

Over all this was great for our first cruise..like I said it got me hooked on cruises. Going on Allure in May 2013!
