Excellent Ship with very friendly crew,

Sail Date: March 2013
Destination: Eastern Caribbean
Embarkation: Fort Lauderdale (Port Everglades)

Travelled from the UK for our first cruise, Stayed 3 nights in Miami Beach Resort & Spa (See Trip advisor review) before transfer to FL on Sunday Very easy embarkation lots of people to help you first impressions of ship was excellent, room steward was very helpful and gave all the answers we needed. Room very nice very clean and tidy, beds were very comfy. no problems with anything in the room during cruise.
Waiting staff were very friendly and mostly helpful in all the restaurants and bars. The shows and entertainment were great with lots to do on board and the Lotus Spa although expensive was very good. Entertainment staff were the best we have seen on all holidays we have been on. Especially Dave from england.
The cost of all the alcohol on board is quite expensive at around $6 per bottle of bud. Gratuities are added to all alcohol prices. There is a standard gratuity charge of $12 per person per day added to your account but this can be waived if required by requesting More at customer services on the ship and you just tip the persons that have looked after your during your trip. Photos are taken all the time but you don't have to purchase but they at very expensive at $24.99 per picture. If they were $10 each then we would have purchased a lot more.
All the islands visited we very nice with great beaches and views. Less

Cabin review: Ruby Princess Mini-Suite with Balcony Dolphin Deck D621

D621 midway between midships and aft (Back) of boat, excellent cabin with all amenities very good shower over bath very good layout with separate lounge area very quiet during night excellent soft bed, spotlessly clean. Only thing I would recommend is to get a even number room on other side of boat as most of the islands views are this side.

Port and Shore Excursions

Just took a day on the beach here which is just off the boat excellent very sandy shallow beach but can get very crowded within the Grand Turk Cruise Centre. (A cruise company set up entertainment area, I think) Excellent area or just walk up the beach a little to many quieter bars outside the GTCC area. Alcohol is quite expensive at a similar price to the ship but with the ship being the only income it's fair I think. Lots of things to do here if you like Bikes, Segways or motor scooters in the Cockburn Town area about 3 miles from ship. Free wifi available in GTCC bar area.

Princess Cruises own beach with a captive audience. All purchases on the beach are charge to your ship account. A 5 mins tender transfer to the island from the boat, sandy beach with rocks under foot as you enter water for swimming etc. (poss wear soft old trainers) This would be a 5 star but it is a Princess Cruise run beach and therefore sames prices as ship. Free BBQ and food during lunch time supplied by ship and served by ships crew.

Very nice island, catch water taxi to main area $7 round trip or 30 mins walk, free wifi in candy store just after you get off or in MaccyD in main street, very busy because we had 5 ships in but still lots to see, most of the beach front loungers / shades are for hire at around $25 for 2 inc 5 or 6 bottles of beer in a iced bucket cheaper as you walk down the beach front.

Island Tour

(5.5)
Did't book cruise trip as was told there was lots of taxis doing tours as you get off boat. We had a great tour of the island with local taxi (Moses Taxi Tours $25 each) Try to get in cab with driver as you get better info during tour and Air Con. Stopped at a local beach just around from ship. Emerald Beach very quite with a lovely location with white sandy beach and shallow waters. Taxi driver will drop you off there but you will need to get a $4 per person taxi back, Very relaxing day. Ray visited beach waters while there much to the surprise of people in water.
