My wife and I attended Mardi Gras for the first time, spending 3 days in New Orleans before our NCL cruise. The first day was at sea, very needed and welcome. But we immediately took advantage of the spa special. (Gloria and Noreen were excellent). The port of calls were all very enjoyable ... we dune buggeyed in Costa Maya, cave tubed and zip lined in Belize, island sightseeing in Roatan and Mexican cuisine cooking in Cozumel. All were NCL sponsored tour/excursions. We are will to pay a little extra for the guarantee of an endorsed excursion that will make sure we get back on ship on time. All of the excursions were well worth the money and the experiences were great memories.
On board, we again took advantage of the "Chef's Table" experience. We had done two others on previous NCL cruises and looked forward to this one on the Star as well. (book early, it's a 1-time, limited person event). Chef Andrea was very interactive and made the evening even more enjoyable. There were only 11 of us at the dinner, which was a nine-course, wine-paired, spectacular dinner.
We met new friends and enjoyed ourselves immensely. Then, we got invited to a galley tour with the chef for Saturday (our last day at sea). Another eye-opening, behind the scenes, tour and experience.
The staff on the NCL Star were excellent. The shows/entertainment was great.
We felt and were treated like family.
We have already booked our next two cruises .... both with NCL.
Love to cruise, especially with NCL :) :)
