Island Princess 10 Day Panama Canal
My husband and I are in our early 60's and just completed the Feb. 16, 2013 10 Day Roundtrip Panama Canal Cruise on the Island Princess. We had completed the 15 day Full Transit a few years ago on the Coral Princess so decided on the 10 day for this trip. We both love the size of the Coral and the Island Princess.
We chose Traditional Dining, early seating. 90% of passengers on this trip requested early seating so we were fortunate to keep the early time as others were moved to the late seating.
Service was fantastic, from our room steward to all of the dining, bar and entertainment venues. Everyone always greeted us with a smile.
We were in a mini-suite and the room was in great shape and our bed was comfortable.
We enjoyed all of the excursions we had booked - DePalm Island in Aruba, Old City and Fort tour in Cartegena, Aerial Tram and Tortugera Canal in Costa Rica and snorkeling in Ocho Rios. Since we've been in Panama previously, we stayed on the ship for the More day transit and turnaround in the Canal.
The entertainment was good - we've seen some things on previous cruises so skipped a couple of shows. As usual, the 8 pm shows in the Princess Theater filled in quickly and you had to get there 45 minutes ahead of time to get a seat.
The person giving the port lectures, Emile Baladi, did a great job and it was actually a lecture and not a shopping sales job.
Loved this cruise! Less

Cabin review: Island Princess
Cabin D511, Mini-Suite on Dolphin Deck. Good location - midship. Was able to get to both forward and aft decks and lounges with relative ease.
