We chose this cruise for a small family reunion because of the cruise date, not the itinerary. Embarkation was delayed by over an hour & a half because of a computer network problem - the port computer could not send the passenger data to the ships computer. Some passengers were able to board before the network failure. The rest of us were left outside the terminal for over an hour & a half. Once we were inside, the line went quickly. Most of our time inside was spent waiting for our zone to be called for boarding. We were onboard in 45 minutes.
The best that can be said about the food on the buffet is mediocre. The MDR menu was fair to good. The MDR wait staff was attentive and helpful. We were on early seating. We never had a problem with cold food.
The cabin is poorly organized for 3 people. When the bottom beds are combined into a queen, the pullman bed hangs over a quarter of the bed. If you have back problems, this could be a big issue. Our room More
steward did a fair job of keeping the room clean most days. There was never a problem with noise.
This is the cruise to take if you have no intention on leaving the ship. We looked around at both ports - Nassau and Freeport. We went to the public beach by the pier in Nassau. It was 79 degrees and mostly sunny. The water was ice cold. Wear water shoes. The beach has rocks and broken shells.
The Freeport pier is in a nondescript industrial area. The shops at the pier are all selling the same items. We were back on the ship within an hour.
Dekarkation was organized and smooth. When we picked up our luggage, we used a porter and were able bypass the long self-assist line for customs. Porters have their own line. Less
