Sail Date: Sep 2012

We flew into St. Petersburg for our first visit to Russia. Starting with three days of sightseeing in fabulous St. Petersburg, we cruised past many lakes and locks to get to Moscow. We flew home from Moscow. The 'sailing' was very smooth and never thought we were on water. The locks used to raise and lower the boats were fun to watch.

Many short stops along the way relieved the shipboard time as well as our pocket books. Many activities were planned and kept us involved with no boredom at all.

The guides were friendly, well-informed, dedicated and open to discuss politics, history or anything else and provided another source of entertainment. The company on-board were congenial and we enjoyed many friends at meal times in addition to the plentiful and varied menu. Preparations for the bus tours were comfortable, thoughtful and kind.
