After looking forward to this cruise for nine months, we were married the morning before, and drove to Baltimore to embark on our honeymoon cruise. Being in our mid-50's and together for over 12 years, we'd taken several trips and vacations, but never cruised and we were hoping for something really special for our honeymoon. We certainly weren't disappointed.
Embarkation was crowded, but very organized and smoothly run. It didn't take long for us to board the ship and check out our cabin. Anderson, our cabin attendant was making up the bed, and welcomed us. I swear that he was a magic little elf who appeared just to straighten up our cabin as soon as we were out the door, and then disappeared again, leaving only mints, and cute little towel animals as signs that he had been there. He was always smiling and friendly and I would have brought him home with us, but he just seemed to love his job so much!!! The ship, for being 10 years old is very impressive and full of character. I hope that they keep the charm when she undergoes the refurbishing next year. Meanwhile, you could see that the workers were constantly upgrading, laying carpet, etc., but they made sure that they didn't interfere with the passenger's right of ways.
The food!! The Windjammer was very good, with a variety of your better than average buffet food. But the dining room - Oh the dining room!! The choices, the service, the surroundings all were outstanding and we thoroughly enjoyed it each and every time. Our waiters were amazing mind readers who brought what we wanted but had failed to order, or added an extra entrEe that he recognized we had liked at a previous meal.
