We flew into IAH and had purchase the to and from transfers but due to another passengers delays, we just made it on ship before it launched. The ship's makeover this Spring was very successful and the bed and linens were exceptional. This was 2nd Carnival cruise for me and the activities were just as abundant as before, not enough time to do everything but always something happening for all ages - most free. Gambling was favorable too - as long as you quit while winning. Neat little accessories shop on Promenade by internet cafe. Scarves, wraps, jewelry sets, watches, purses - all $10! Internet was slow and expensive - skip it unless you cannot live without it. preferred Windstar dinning to buffet for most meals. If worried about small portions just order 2 appetizers and/or entrees - especially if you cannot make up your mind - they were all fancy and interesting to try. Breakfast there was also much better with many more choices than the same old fare at the buffet on Lido. The evening entertainment was very good and professional in all aspects - just go early for good seats. Most staff spoke English and all very polite and friendly. Our cabin steward always greeted us by name and always managed to sneak in to tidy up or turn down bed, then leave those awesome towel critters. New itinerary left shorter time available for shore excursions. Trip to Xcaret was disappointing - beautiful place but not enough time to see much. Should have gone to beach in Cozumel. Nice trip to Dzebelchetun Ruins worked well at Progresso - and still had time to find bargains at the many little shops right at the pier. Debarkation went quickly and smoothly. With the gulf calm and weather great, we could not have had a better cruise! Cruising Carnival gets you the best deal for your dollars without feeling cheap!
