This was my seventh cruise, my wife's fourth and my three year olds' first. All have been with Carnival. I have to say that this was by far the best cruise either of us has been on. We ran into the tail end of Tropical Storm Alberto on our last day at sea and that made for quite a ride, but the Captain did an excellent job with what he had.

Pre-Cruise We flew in from Chattanooga the day before the cruise on Saturday and stayed at the Courtyard by Marriott just down the street from the cruise terminal. My wife's mom and step-dad joined us on the cruise and drove from Chattanooga instead of flying with us. They left three hours earlier then us and made it to the hotel to check in and still had time to come to the airport and pick us up. I will really consider driving next time we leave from this port. Once we arrived at the port we drove right up under the cover and unloaded the bags. They have valet parking at 12.00 per day instead of the self-park at 10.00 per day. When you return you walk across the street and your car is waiting at the exit of the elevator on your floor. Very nice!!!

Embarkation This was one of the easiest embarkation I have come across. They let us in from outside around 10:30 that morning and we were waiting for our group to be called by 11:00. There is plenty of seating inside and you do not have to wait out in the heat very long at all. At approximately 12:00 pm our group was being called and we were taking our first of many pictures at check-in. Rooms were not available until after 1:30pm so we headed to the Lido deck on Deck 9 for hamburgers and hotdogs and our first Fun-Ship drink of the day.
