We are two couple who cruised from Southampton to British Isles and more. This was our 7th cruise and our 2nd on Princess. EMBARKATION was very easy once it started! We arrived quite early in Southampton as the transfer was early. There was little to do while waiting. They did open a small coffee and snack bar. I was glad I had some pounds to start with.
CABIN WE loved our cabin. The balcony was great and the room felt spacious and clean. There was plenty of closet space and the room steward brought me more hangers when asked. The bathroom products were quite nice too. The bed is hard however. As I had read previously on this board, the bedding is in serious need of upgrading. That said, the room was always clean and made up very quickly. We asked for and got a lounge chair for our deck. This was a hint I read about on these boards. My husband spent many a nice nap there! Our friends were next door and we could peek around and visit. There was a way to open the door between us but we decided to leave it the way it was.
PORTS: We had preregistered for tours in every port. Dublin Did the Powerscourt and Dublin Highlights. Powerscourt was lovely. Nice to see the grounds and the weather was perfect. We then headed into Dublin and saw a few highlights but were mostly left to shop. We hiked over to see St. Patrick's on our own. Since there was a shuttle I think I would have done this more on my own if I had the option again. We took a break in St. Stephen's Green when the hub bub got too much!
