Grand Princess November 9th Western Caribbean

Who we are: Hubby and I are 36 and 37, with demanding full-time jobs and two kids (ages 6 and 8), from whom we were enjoying a nice break. Friends travelling with us are 40-42 and in same situation (busy work and home lives, travelling without their kids). Each of us has taken one prior cruise (us on Celebrity, and them on Royal Caribbean).

Overall impressions The Grand Princess is a first-rate ship with all the amenities you'd expect in a big ship, but enough cozy spaces that you never feel crowded or overwhelmed. We were very favorably impressed, and would have to say that this was one of the best vacations we have ever taken. Since we have only cruised once before (Celebrity Infinity, Southern Caribbean, November 2001) I can only compare this to that first trip. I would say that Grand Princess had a better overall layout (easier to find your way around, more cozy spaces to hang out in), more dining options (personal choice, Sabatinis, Painted Desert, 24-hr buffet), and more entertainment choices. Infinity had better service, a slightly larger cabin, and slightly better food, and as a newer ship was generally in better condition
