info: myself and my husband. first cruise with NCL.

Hotel: My husband made our reservations through the local Comfort Suites from our room before the cruise and after the cruise. He also made reservations for travel to and from the airport to the hotel and to and from the hotel to the pier and back to the airport. Everything went smoothly and the staff at the Comfort Suites (Roy Street) had many suggestions as to the best pizza place, pubs and even got us a special reservation at the needle for a romantic dinner.

Ship: We got to the embarkation center around 11:00am and everyone was very nice and helpful with where to go and what to do next, especially when I realized that I had left my purse at the hotel. After retrieving my purse and getting back in line to receive our embarkation cards everything again went smoothly and before you knew it we were on our way to our room. I must mention also that it was do my husbands research on the internet that after we had booked our cruise that we kept looking for deals being offered on different rooms that we got an upgrade from a smaller room on the 9th floor to this mini-suite on the 11th for close to nothing....thanks Judy. We did get lost at one time when we first got on the ship and one of the cleaning crew nicely showed us where we needed to be. Our room was just finishing being cleaned and we were just in awe of all the room and the beauty outside our window. We also had a romance package and were very impressed with our chocolates and champagne and note which were left in our room as well. Contrary to other reviews....our room stewards were constantly cleaning our room, vacuuming, leaving us little treats and leaving the towels in the cutest animal likenesses. Even when they saw us further away from the room or on a different level they still remembered our names and would converse with us about things happening throughout the day. My husband liked them so much that not only did we give them both an extra monetary tip, but he also gave them beer for when their shifts were done so that they could enjoy their time off from working so hard.
