Having read an overwhelming number of negative reviews, I was expecting the worst from NCL's Pride of America; I would say about half of those expectations were met. I still thought a cruise was the most efficient way to see 4 islands in a week, so my family and I tried to make the best of things in spite of the sporadic disappointments.
Embarkation went pretty smoothly as we arrived at the port mid-afternoon to a short line and arrived to a warm welcome at the level of the Capitol Atrium. (Note: Disembarkation was also well organized and efficient due to color coding)
To start off, all the public rooms, restaurants, bars, lounges, etc. are just as they appear in the catalogs: pretty clean, well-maintained, and colorful, just smaller than what I imagined, with the usual wear and tear.
