My husband and I decided to take a cruise for our 10th anniversary and this cruise on the Carnival Sensation fit into the time period that we had so off we went! This was our first cruise and we were a little nervous, but highly excited when we saw the ship for the very first time.

We arrived at the port at 11:30AM and had to wait in the waiting area for about one hour before they allowed us to board. After boarding, we went to the Lido Deck to eat because our room was not ready and took a look around. The room was ready at about 2PM so we left our luggage and met our room steward, Kelvin. We walked around and peeked in all of the lounges and other areas trying to get a feel for where everything was until the cruise talk. After the cruise director, Matt, told us about the excursions and the cruise activities, we went to the muster drill. This was not as stressful as I had expected and was over pretty quickly. Then we set sail. We watched Port Canaveral go by. We checked out the supershopper talk and found out all about shopping in Nassau and then went to get ready for dinner. Dinner was awesome! Lobster tails, pan fried grouper, and prime rib were the choices of my husband and I and we ate until we were about to pop! Then off to the show, "Curves", which was excellent! Off to bed after that because it had been a very long day!

The next morning when we awoke we were almost in Nassau. I sat in the window sill and watched Nassau as we came into the dock there. We went to breakfast at the buffet (excellent) and then prepared to go to Nassau. This is the only regret of our trip-that we did not schedule and excursion. We went shopping for a little while and then came back to the boat. We are both very hesitant and with all of the many people clamoring for our attention we were too overwhelmed to go on a private excursion. I wish we had booked a Carnival excursion so that we could have went to the beach, but we know for next time. We did hang out at the pool, which was empty with everyone else gone and that was relaxing and fun so it was okay. Formal night was the same night that we were in Nassau so we dressed up and went to every picture taking place that they had. We had some very nice pictures at the end of it. That was great! Dinner was great that night as well!
