We just got back from our cruise on the Enchantment of the Seas. We are RCCL Platinum members, and had sailed last on 2 Voyager-class ships. We weren't sure if a 5-day cruise on an older ship would be up to the 7-day cruises on the mega-ships. We turned out to very wrong on this assumption.

Day 1-Embarkation. We arrived at the dock at 12:30 and were on the ship by 1:00. When we arrived we were told that the 18 year old beer and wine policy had been ended and only 21 year olds could drink onboard, much to my 18 year olds dismay. But it appears RCCL is serious about curbing the drinking problems on their ships, starting with the 18-20 year olds. The welcome aboard luncheon in the Windjammer was excellent. We were in our room prior to 2:00, and it was very nice, a junior suite. Our cabin steward, Roque, was there to meet us, gave us the platinum member treatment, and was outstanding during the entire cruise. Our RCCL robes were in the room already, and the bedding was clean and the beds comfortable. Our main seating dinner, table 442, with our waiter Ronald and asst. waiter Radj, also set the tone for the cruise, with the food as excellent as any ship I have been on, and great service beside. The welcome aboard show featured our first meeting with Carly B., the cruise director. The show as excellent, featuring a comedian and the ship's Dancers and Singers. We ended the night in Boleros, and even though we had been delayed leaving the dock for 4 hours due to a needed lifeboat replacement, the trip to our first port of call was surprisingly smooth.

Day 2-Key West. We arrived only about 20 minutes late despite the delay the night before. Since we had never been to Key West before, we just walked Duvall Street and enjoyed the atmosphere and shops. We also got a "Key Lime pie on a stick" as seen on the Food TV network, and it wasn't that far off the beaten path and worth the walk. We got back to the ship, and then went to the Viking Crown Lounge for the Platinum/Diamond members party. The finger foods were very good, and they brought us whatever drinks we wanted for the 45 minute party. Suzanne, our Loyalty Ambassador, sat with us for quite a while talking about the line and this ship. She was very pleasant and friendly. The dinner that night was again excellent. After dinner we went to the Captains Reception. Cocktails were plentiful as were the hors d'oeuvres. The Captain was very funny, and the reception was well attended. We then went to the first full show of the ship's show troop, and it was very entertaining. We ended the night at the Viking Crown Lounge for a 90 minute '70s party, complete with Carly in a fro wig and the "almost Village People" performing. Day 3-Cozumel. We had privately booked a day-excursion at San Fransisco Beach, and took a cab to the beach. The food was good and the drinks kept coming. The service was great, the bathrooms better than expected, the beach clean and well groomed, and the water very clean. We stayed there until it was time to return to the ship. On board we attended the Crown & Anchor welcome back party. They served free champagne and juice, and finger foods were plentiful. The entertainment was also top notch, with Romeo playing for the party. We then went to the show, which was a very funny ventriloquist. We ended the night walking the deck on a beautiful warm night.
