Our family of 5 traveled with grandparents to Alaska in two minisuites next to each other. Embarkation went smoothly. We did sit on the buses for about 10 minutes because it was raining so they held us so we wouldn't stand in the rain. We checked out the room and headed out to eat at the buffet. Our luggage arrived within 2 hours. The room steward came by quickly to introduce himself. All went smoothly the first day.

This is my 4th cruise, my DH's 7th and the in-laws have been on 40 or so. The steward left much to be desired. Paged him on Sunday, he called back on Monday. Good thing it wasn't important. Had to ask for towels. Just a little slow. The buffet dining people were great and helpful. Someone to hand you a plate and silverware. People walked around and made sure food was replenished. Dining room staff--we had one problem with the waiter arguing with my mother-in-law (big mistake for him), from then on everything was smooth. Casino staff, purser's desk, boutiques and photographers all were friendly.

Kid's room was GREAT!! We had a 3 year old and twin 9 year olds so they were in two rooms. The did stuff all the time, won prizes, had stuff to bring back with them, ice cream parties, dinners, talent show, contests, Karaoke and they wanted to be back in the room always asking what time does the kids room open. ALL the staff were great with the kids. We had a minisuite with a balcony and would recommend a balcony to anyone taking an Alaskan cruise so they can enjoy the scenery, especially in Glacier Bay. The room was quite large, however the refrigerator did not keep things cold. We had a sofa bed and a pull down bed for the kids. Two televisions came in handy so the kids could watch what they wanted.
