Traveled with children

This was our first cruise and my husband and I went along with my parents, my grandfather, and 18 other family members as an 85th Birthday gift from my grandfather to all of us. My husband and I were not excited about the idea of a cruise but we were pleasantly surprised.

We had an adjoining stateroom with our three children, ages 5, 8 and 11 and the privacy was very nice! I was nervous at first, being an overprotective mom, that my children would not be safe but by the end of the trip, my oldest was taking classes on her own and checking herself in and out of the Adventure Ocean.

The food on board was amazing and we learned quickly that we could order more than one appetizer and main course (even desserts some nights) and the waiters even brought out five extra lobster tails one night! The service was phenomenal and we ended up becoming very emotional when saying goodbye to our waiters and our stateroom attendant. They had taken such good care of us that we almost considered them part of our family. Our assistant waiter hunted down markers for our kids to color and our waiter sought out the specific cookies the kids wanted as well as cutting their meat for them every night. Whenever we saw our staff around the ship, they went out of their way to chat with us.
