This was our 5th Princess cruise and we selected this trip because of the itinerary, especially the inclusion of Iceland, Scotland and Ireland. We live in a hot climate and were looking forward to a fortnight of cool weather. We flew to Heathrow and had to wait an hour for a bus to the ship. It seemed like many planes landed at the same time and it was chaotic finding the Princess staff and getting assigned to a bus. Traffic to Southampton was very heavy and some complained that their busses were not air-conditioned, although ours was. Once in Southampton, we had to wait 45 minutes to board the ship at around 12:30. Embarkation went smoothly and our luggage was delivered to our cabin before dinner.

We like staying on the 5th deck close to reception and gangplank exits, but our cabin was very tight with barely room to get into bed. Closet and storage space were ample and our cabin steward, Jerry, was excellent.

We signed up for free-choice dining and enjoyed sitting with an array of guests. The majority of passengers were from UK, a nice change from the usual crowd of Americans. There were also a good number of Russian passengers. The average age was definitely senior citizen and few children were on board.
