After 23 years of marriage and many vacations, my husband and I finally decided to go on a cruise. We visited travel agents and searched online to find the cruise that would best suit us. I had decided that I wanted to go around my birthday in mid July, so we decided to take the 5 day, Western Caribbean cruise on Royal Caribbean's Enchantment of the Seas. We made our reservations in early March and arranged air transportation on Jet Blue for the morning of the cruise, July 17.

About 2 weeks before the cruise, I decided we should leave the day before, so for a minimal amount we made the change to Sunday, July 16 and booked the Marriott Harbor Beach Resort in Ft. Lauderdale using Marriott Reward Points.

We arrived at the Harbor Beach resort around noon on Sunday. After checking into our balcony room, we headed for the pool. The room was very nice, a little nicer than your typical Marriott room, and the balcony overlooked the private beach and ocean. Though crowded, we were able to find 2 lounge chairs in the shade, left our towels and walked to the restaurant to get lunch. Spent the rest of the day enjoying the pool area.
