Carnival Victory - Western Caribbean
Let me say this was my first cruise ever... And I loved it so much that we have already started looking to book next year.... The staff was wonderful and the entertainment was out of this world.... I just honestly don't know how the Victory could have a bad review... Unless you didn't involve yourself in all activities...... Two thumbs up for Carnival.
The only disappointment was the Hilton Miami.... Carnival should really look at other hotels.... The staff was rude with most of us.... Even told some excited passengers to quiet down in the lobby..... Not very good customer service in my books......
Embarkation was a bit slow but think about it... 3,000 thousand people, I would rather have them checked out than have a dangerous person on board..... Once we got through the line we were on the Lido Deck which was where our cabin was, eating lunch by 12:30 p.m.
Our cabin was great it was just the right size for 2 people... It was just me and my mom on this More trip... Our cabin steward's name was Tye and we saw him as soon as we went to our cabin and tipped him right from the get go $20 dollars and another $20 at the end of the week and the service was outstanding..... He never ever charged us for drinking the pop in the room............ The service was wonderful....
The first night on the ship we went to the dinning room for supper... Our waiter's name was Dede and his assistant was Nirun and they were the cream of the crop..... It was funny because me and my mom are fussy eaters and by the end of the week he would just order us one of everything.... That night was the Welcome Aboard show and it was so funny they did the spoon game and got some people from the audience.... I don't think I laughed so hard in all my life.........
Our first port of call was Costa Maya, Mexico.... It was really hot there but the shopping was great.... There were 3 ships in that day so there were people everywhere..... I say, the more the merrier.... My mom and I were nervous about the water, so that all we bought in Mexico was bottled water and never ate anything....
Our next port of call was the Cayman Islands.... The islands were not what we really expected .... Still a lot of hurricane damage but all in all they were nice.... We did the sting ray surf, it was awesome... Never seen so many sting rays swimming around our feet just looking for a pat on the head... I recommend this to anyone that goes to the Cayman Islands....
My mom and I went to the Hard Rock Cafe when we returned and had nachos and pina coladas... The best we ever had..... Less
