This sailing was my third cruise with Carnival and the only cruise line I have sailed on. My husband and teenage son were with me and all of us really enjoyed ourselves. The ship was lovely in most aspects except for the urns everywhere but I knew about this already so it was no surprise. The weather was fine for 7 out of the 8 days and it was the same for movement on the ship as well.

Embarkation: We took a bus out of Providence to the port which was really convenient for us. We didn't have to worry about driving in NYC or finding parking which made it hassle free for us. It took a little over an hour to get through embarkation but from reading on this board I knew this would probably be the case. I feel that the process was organized and would have no problem with sailing out of NYC again.

Cabin: We were in 7161 which has an extended balcony. There was plenty of room for all three of us with ample storage space. I felt that the mattress was too firm so the room steward was nice enough to put two layers of foam on top for me so that helped. I thought the bedding was quite nice though especially the comforter. The best part of this cabin was the extended balcony which we spent some considerable time on. My husband fell asleep out there a few times. The last full day at sea I wasn't feeling too well so we propped open the balcony door so I could enjoy the sound of the ocean.
