Carnival Victory - Canada/New England
This was our first cruise and found it very enjoyable. We were a little hesitant after reading the reviews from June, 06. We were in a family group of 26 ranging in age from 17 to 81. Some of the group members had cruised before and felt that the food was not as good as other cruise lines. The only one that felt left out was the 17 year old, as he was to old for teen activities and to young for the adult entertainment.
The weather was not great as our first sea day was foggy and the fog horn went off every two minutes. Both days in Canada were foggy in the morning and then burned off.
One thing I would recommend is to wait to purchase photos, as they make you think the photos will only be available for a limited time. They are displayed the entire cruise and by the end you will have quite a few to choose from.
We took liquor in our suit case to cut down on the bill and had no problem doing so.
Also, excursions were much cheaper if you waited More until you were off the ship. Reversing rapids in St. Johns was only $38 vs $90 booked thru ship. Peggys Cove taxi for 6 was $30 pp verses $50. Cabs are right outside the ship with posted prices. Worth walking off and down the pier to find the activities you are interested in. Less
