I read staffer Marcia Levin's review and found it to be up to date and accurate, and I can only attest to its accuracy. My family and I just returned from the five day Western Caribbean sailing. I thought that I may be able to add a unique perspective to the member reviews because I am a ship captain myself, my web page http://www.geocities.com/freighterman.geo/captpage.html gives a review of my credentials and experience.
The trip was far better than I had expected. The sailing was completely full, no "upgrades" were available, and over 800 children were aboard at "Camp Carnival" We had one of the cheapest inside cabins, feeling that we would only use the cabin for sleeping, and when I booked it last month, it was the only thing available on this particular sailing.
Because it was filled to capacity, I had expected glitches on getting on, getting off, and with the service in general. My expectations were too low. It took us no more than 30 minutes to embark, debark, and service was excellent. Our cabin was made up twice daily, and the service in the dining rooms was great, with no long wait or long lines in any of the eating places.
