BAJA 4 nt'R.. The ship was in fine shape for her age. Was really happy with this trip. Cabin Atten. George was the greatest ever.
Cabin was the smallest cabin I have ever stay'd in. and I do like inside cabins. But this was just too small. And we are booked on her sister ship, Majesty in Oct. so we went to see Danny (Ambass. Officer ) and did some cabin changes for our Majesty cruise. He was great also. We are now doing a SO cabin with only a few dollars more, thanks to Danny. There are no safes in cabins, but that will be changing in Jan, as Monarch will be going in for upgrades.
Poolside was very nice, Loungers available most of the day without problems. Not enough big tables for card playing on pool deck area.
Food was Top Notch!!! our table waiters were a 2 on a scale of 1-5, Cooks on the other hand were 5's for sure.. They had a nice chocolate midnight buffet .. Yummy... Shows: we only did the Newlywed game and it was funny. One of the best we have seen. Had to be there as it was bleeped out for sure in a lot of parts on the review tape. They had a bingo for a free cruise, but we did not win. My Hubby was the Bingo Commissioner. and he is a funny guy, so he kept people on a up beat even if they did not Bingo.
Catalina Island, must do the golf carts rentals and see the Island. Some of the viewpoints are unbelievable. Ensenada, was a 4 on the scale. I have been to other places in Mexico and did not really care for any of them. So giving Ensenada a 4 is great on my scale. Very easy to find your way around, at the pier you can get a shuttle to shopping area for only $3.00 and that is round trip. They barter with you, and you can get some really great items cheap.. Luggage was delivered to cabin within the first hour.
And getting off ship was 5 on my scale. They called our Platinum color at 7:30 am to disbarkment. I have never be able to get off that early. (Usually 10:00 am).
We also booked Alaska Land & Sea for Aug 14, 2007 while on board, and got $200.00 seapass credits. This will be our second trip to Alaska, I wanted to see more on land this time.
I would do this sailing on Monarch again, it was that good of a trip. Thanks again and Happy Cruise-N.
