We were on the Splendour sailing on June 25th for 7 days traveling from Venice-Athens-Mykonons-Rhodes-Dubrovnik-Venice. We would rate our trip as a positive experience, enjoying the ports and the activities on the ship.

We arrived the night before the cruise and stayed at Casa Rezzonico, a small B&B that was perfect for one quick night. We had time to roam around Venice for a few hours in the morning and picked our luggage up at the hotel at 1PM to start our journey to the ship. RCCL does not give travelers much information on how to make it to the ship if you don't use their transfer service so I did some independent research on CC to find the best way there. We decided to walk it. We are a husband/wife 44/42 traveling with two 18yr old boys. It was a very hot walk and took us approx. 15 minutes to reach Piazzle Roma and another 20 minutes to get to the port area. We accidently made a wrong turn towards the port following a side that said "passenger terminal". That was the first left, do not take that street, you need to take the 2nd left to actually reach the cruise terminal. The sidewalk ends as you make your way there and you have to intersect with some traffic.

A security officer checked our cruise tickets and guided us to the proper luggage drop off location. There was a RC rep there who told us where to go for embarkation procedures. It's upstairs in the yellow terminal building, Costa uses the same building. Embarkation was done by floor (we had aft cabin 6122) there was also a line for people who had filled out there sail pass but we did not see this until after we had checked in. The line moved extremely slooooow but very cold water, lemonade and cookies were being served to the guests.
