Celebrating our 29th anniversary on the Spirit was a delight. We have cruised before and thought this cruise was as nice as the last one. I read a lot of negatives before we went, but we were not disappointed. Having upgraded rooms helped. If you can save a little longer and get the AC Penthouse Suite.....it's well worth it. You don't have to stand in lines getting on the ship. We walked right on.

The room itself was fantastic. Asian decor was very tasteful with rich dark mahogany and marble sinks, etc. Water pressure was excellent.....better than some homes. One piece of advice....if you get a suite...make sure it's in the front of the ship. The back of the ship gets a lot of noise and we were told it's hard to hear on the balconies.

The food in the specialty restaurants was very good. We made our reservations when we got on the ship and had no problem at all. We didn't care for Gardens or Windows. Raffles, however, with selected items was also fine. Never saw any wilting lettuce or spoiled fruit as I had read about. Some of the items were quite tasty. We heard some people complaining about the Freestyle Cruising. When we asked them why they didn't like it, they said it was very confusing and not organized. We enjoyed the freedom to eat where we wanted and when. We also would rather dine by ourselves and not at a table of 10 with people we don't know.
