Hello everyone. Cruised on the CARNIVAL LEGEND 6/13 out of NY to PR, St Thomas, USVI & Tortola, BVI. I just want to start by saying that I have read some of these other reviews before & after my trip, & I am SO HAPPY that some of these people have decided not to cruise Carnival again. I don't ever want to be on the same ship with some of the complainers that always expect more & more & never satisfied. Perhaps they should stay in their back yards eating a different meal from their own kitchen every day. sheeeeesh! As grandma says Never expect too much & you won't be disappointed Enjoy what you got! OK now that I got that off my chest here was my truthful experience.

EMBARKATION: (complainers: this is actually check-in in & getting on the ship not your experience driving through the NYC traffic) Took a bus from Allentown to the Ny Port authority $30 round-trip. So we didn't have to pay for parking. It is only $10 for a taxi to the post. A great tip if you have access to a bus terminal. I heard it cost around $96 to park at the port? We arrived around 11:30 & yes there was a line. I got in line right at the entrance to the cattle chute. Overall it took about 25-30 minutes, but not that bad since there were roughly 75-80 people ahead of me as well as the VIP line. Some people were filling out their sail/sign info in line so if everyone was prepared may have been quicker. After the desk we walked right on the ship so no wait there. Just arrive early with a good attitude.

We found our balcony room easily (not brain science just go to your deck & follow the # rs people). Room was as described and a little larger than my ast cruise. definitely in the bathroom. Was nice to have a balcony this time. Our room steward (Anna) happened to be in our room & greeted us immediately. She was very nice. Found a central bar & my friend befriended the bartender for returning later. Went on deck to check the views & scout the ship. It didn't take long to understand the layout (only got lost once) I was surprised though., that when we left port there was not more going on with the crew. On the SENSATION the crew & cruise director were tossing beads to the crowd & passing out horns & leighs. The party started immediately! On the LEGEND the photographers were out but not a real sending off Welcome-aboard party happening. HINT: You can get better pictures of the Statue of Liberty when you return since the sun will be on it instead of behind it when you leave. Just pack early and be on deck. Otherwise all you get are silhouettes.
