We had a fabulous time aboard the Pride of America during our June 10th 2006 cruise! We worked thru a large agency to arrange our 40th anniversary trip. All arrangements were made by NCL airline reservations, pre-cruise hotel stay, shore excursions, etc. We arrived in Honolulu the evening of June 8th after a Delta non-stop flight from Atlanta and were met by NCL personnel at the gate who helped us pick up our luggage (our luggage didnt arrive until early the next morning thanks to Delta and the Atlanta connection) and lead us to the bus waiting to take us into the city. We stayed at the Marriott Waikiki and were met in the hotel lobby by NCL people who handed us our keys and pre-cruise info. I highly recommend arriving a day or two early in order to get over the time shock and to make sure you get on board the ship at the earliest time.

It was recommended by friends that we spend the extra money to upgrade our flights to first class, and we did. I think it was worth it. The extra leg and shoulder room was welcome for a flight of that length. Food wasnt great, but it gave you something to do.

The hotel in Honolulu was terrific! The room was beautiful and the bed was great. We had a pretty good view of the beach between two buildings. We ate breakfast at the hotel Saturday morning at a buffet and it was very good.
