My sister and I had a great time on the Sun. Alaska is a fabulous destination, despite being rather cold even at the height of summer. This was our first cruise, so I dont have a lot to compare to, but we did have fun. We are ages 25 and 28 years old.

We arrived three days before the cruise left in order to explore Seattle. We stayed at Pensione Nichols, which is a B&B right next to Pike Place Market. Very reasonable prices and a decent breakfast (with an awesome view). Id recommend it, with a word of caution that there are no private bathrooms&. But nonetheless, its a great alternative to pricier downtown Seattle hotels.

On the day of embarkation, we showed up around 1pm (the ship departed at 4pm). We had heard horror stories, but getting on the ship was very easy. Hardly any lines, and our suitcases arrived at our room probably within half an hour after we arrived. The lifeboat drill was annoying because it took awhile to complete. But once that was over, the boat took off on time. We enjoyed the wonderful views of Seattle and the beautiful weather as the ship left the city.
