This was our second time ont he Carnival Legend. Despite problems during our first cruise we decided to take 5 others with us for our 1st anniversary. Carnival sent us a letter saying they apologize for the mishaps, call before your next cruise and we'll give you a gift (see Misc)

Embarkation: We arrived at the pier around 11:45. We were directed to a row of chairs and waited about 25 minutes before getting inline for security and cards. We were on board by 12:30. We got the standard "your room may not be ready, please wait on the Lido deck' letter and proceeded to the Purser's desk to put cash on our accounts. THere was no line!! At this time I requested our partitions be opened on our balconies. I gave them the reference number that the customer service repo gave me when I phoned about this earlier in the week. We had drinks and went to our rooms at 2. We hung around until the muster drill. During the drill, a person in our party got dizzy and passed out (heat+crowd=no good). She was taken to the infirmary and charged $60 for the trip. She was pronounced fine and we hung out around the ship, watching the sights sail by.

Room/Steward: Our room was a standard balcony. Nothing fantastic, nothing terrible. Our bon voyage gift had not arrived yet. On the second day of the cruise, we got a letter saying our steward's pager was not working and that we could contact him between 12 and 2 each day. This was also the day our couch cushion covers disappeared.
