This was our honeymoon and our very first cruise. Embarking was relatively smooth and easy, given how many people were on the ship. We had a balcony stateroom that was gorgeous. When we first got to our room there was an invitation to a honeymooner's party on Day 2 and an invitation for a free bottle of champagne if we had dinner at Portofino's.
Service: The service was great, from our room attendant Carlos, to the wait staff at the restaurants. We fell in love with one waitress at Boleros...a Filipina named Erlinda. We had a nightcap at Boleros every night...she was awesome.
Food: The specialty restaurants Portofinos and Chops can't be missed. The service charge is $15 and $20 respectively, but it is so worth it. We could never get such a gourmet dinner like that on land for such a price. The food in the main dining room was good...not as good as the specialty restaurants for sure. We were matched with two other honeymooning couples who were about our age. That was great. We had a lot to talk about, and could relate to them really well. I was really disappointed with the quality of the buffet food and the room-service food. It became sort of a running joke between us...just how bad is it going to be today. It reminded us a lot of the dining hall food in college.
