We had an early morning direct flight to Miami. RCCI made the process of getting from the airport to the ship easy, but it took around 90 minutes. Check in wasn't the nightmare I've heard before, but it took about an hour and we boarded around noon. Rooms weren't available till 1pm, but we started out vacation with a great lunch. When we did get to the cabin 2/3 of our luggage was there. (Next time I'm traveling lighter.) The rest came in a couple of hours. My guests with special needs requests was filled and our cabin was decorated for our 25th anniversary. The cabin attendant was great as well as the wait staff. We left port a few hours late because of other guests, but we still made Nassau in plenty of time. First couple of nights the seas was rough, but manageable on such a big ship. We took ginger root tablets daily which might have helped prevent seasickness.
Dining was wonderful and I highly recommend the late seating. I am a picky eater, but had lots of choices and even got adventurous with some of my choices.
Being on a big ship was great, there was almost never a wait in line. The only time there was a wait was when all the passengers tried to go through customs in St. Thomas at the same time, but the crew stepped in and helped the people with early excursions.
