Our family of 4 (2 40-ish adults and 2 teen boys) recently returned from a 12 night cruise of the Baltics. We had a great time. We flew SAS airlines in to Copenhagen 2 days before the cruise departure and stayed at the "Square Hotel". The flight was great and on time. We upgraded to their "economy plus" option for slightly roomier seats. All seats have individual entertainment screens which help pass the 8 hour flight. The flight attendants were up and down the aisles 6 or 8 times offering snacks, drinks, meals, etc. We took the train from the airport to the hotel...very easy. The Square Hotel was great, I highly recommend it. It's in an excellent location a short way from the Stroget and most other sights. We got 2 small but comfortable rooms, I can't imagine more than 2 people in those rooms. There was an ample complimentary breakfast.

Copenhagen: A beautiful city, I'm glad we got there a couple of days early. We wandered the shopping/old town area one day, and took a canal ride and visited Rosenborg Castle the next day. We also went to the Tivoli, which I would skip. It was very overrated in my opinion and the restaurants there were ridiculously expensive. We weren't too crazy about the Danish food we tried, so I can't recommend any restaurants. One thing that was striking here was that it seemed EVERYONE smoked, everywhere. It was difficult to avoid. The non smoking sections of restaurants were a joke as smoke billowing from nearby tables wafted over.

Embarkation: We arrived at the ship dock about 3 pm and walked right on. No lines, no waiting. Our cabin was a Caribe deck balcony. Our cabin choice was the one negative of our trip. I thought I chose carefully, but we were right across from a crew service door that was used 24-7 and closed with a slam. I had to use ear plugs every night. Also there were very few hours of darkness on this itinerary and I think we would have preferred an inside cabin like our kids (they wouldn't trade).
