We sailed the Infinity out of Vancouver on a misty Sunday. We did the online check in. We didn't wait in any lines because there weren't any. There was a bit of confusion at Waterfront Station because the number of the door we were supposed to use was partially obscured and behind us. It was kind of awkward. There also seemed to be a lot of staff standing around, not really helping anyone. This may explain why cruises are as expensive as they are.
We stayed in an inside cabin, the smallest on the ship. It was compact but adequate since we didn't plan to spend much time on it. I was concerned that it would be stuffy, but it had it's own climate controls. I didn't sleep well the first night because of noise from the corridor behind the cabin. It sounded like someone was dragging a metal dust pan on the ground on and off all night. One thing to consider when booking an inside cabin is what's on the other side of the wall.
Our stateroom attendant was very, well, attentive. When I opened the door to put dishes in the hallway, he was right there to collect them. He was very friendly and did a great job keeping our cabin neat and clean.
