Carnival Glory - Western Caribbean

Sail Date: June 2006
Destination: Western Caribbean
Embarkation: Port Canaveral

This was our 7th cruise. We are in our early 50's and have previously sailed twice on Princess, once on Holland America, once on Celebrity, once on Norwegian and twice on Carnival. Our first Carnival cruise was on the Triumph in Oct 2005 and we said we would not sail on Carnival again. This cruise on the Carnival Glory was much different.

Embarkation in Port Canaveral was a breeze. Our first day was a sea day and it was great. Spent the day by the pool and got dressed for formal night. Our dining room experience was wonderful. We had an 8pm seating in the Platinum Dining Room at table 321, a table for six which was the number of people in our party. Our waiter, Norwell and Assistant Marin were great. The attended to our every need and made dinner a time to look forward to and remember. Food was also very good.

Our first stop was in Cozumel which was a little disappointing. We had been to Cozumel on a previous cruise prior to the Hurricanes last year and found it More much different this time. The port was no longer there. The shop owners almost seemed desperate and we felt bad for them. We look forward to Cozumel getting back to normal.

Our next port was Belize and we went on the Goff Cay snorkeling excursion. It was so fun. The snorkeling was beautiful although not quite as pretty as Grand Cayman. The Island was awesome. A very small island, out in the middle of the water. Very much worth the trip.

Our next stop was Costa Maya and it was our favorite stop. We went to the fishing village and shopped, bought some jewelry and souvenirs and spent the day at The Cats Meow,a very cool bar and restaurant. The owner, Barbara who is from Canada made our day. She was very welcoming and we would highly recommend this stop to everyone. Jorge, our waiter was awesome. We had such a nice relaxing day there and look forward to going back.

Our last stop was Nassau and we very much enjoyed our shopping and Senor Frogs. The manager of the internet cafe was very helpful. We did have some trouble with the wireless internet and he did credit us minutes and was very helpful. We had our own little "happy hour" every evening at the sushi bar, eating sushi and drinking the martini of the day.

Overall, we had a lot of fun. We would highly recommend this cruise. Less
