Having sailed one other time with Explorer of the Seas, we could feel the difference in the Majesty of the Seas as a smaller ship. However, it was a cozier feel...not as many people. This time was had a room with no balcony or windows. That was fine. We mainly used the room to dress and sleep. We traveled with 4 kids ranging in age from 8-17 and 2 other teenage friends and an adult friend in the 40-something age group.
Boarding was a breeze. We were settled in our rooms in no time. The cabins were obviously older, but things were remarkable clean and our Stateroom Attendant, Dina, was wonderful and very friendly.
On our 2nd day, we arrived in Nassau. The port was nice, but as you wander into the city, it had a dirty feel to it. We wandered around a bit, and decided to take a city bus to Fort Charlotte and Queen Elizabeth's staircase. The bus was $1 per person - not a problem. They dropped us off about 2 or 3 blocks away from the Fort. The Fort was historically interesting - we took a few photos. It was HOT. The vendors there sold cold, iced, bottled water for $2 a bottle. There was a straw market there that was a lot less crowded than the more "famous" straw market. Should have bought things there - better prices.
