We sailed on Jewel of the Seas in late January. My husband & I are in our early 50's and we were joined by my brother, his wife and my sister and her husband. My husband & I have cruised many times, brother only once before and sister had never been on a ship.

We were excited about the Jewel because of all the positive reviews we had read. We were not disappointed. We have sailed on several Celebrity ships and 3 other RCCL's, but Jewel is by far the most beautiful we have ever been on. While the ship is very close in size to the Millennium class of Celebrity, the space seems to be utilized so much better on Jewel. The colors were warm and inviting, the glass that was everywhere made the ship bright.

Our embarkation was painless, we were in a JS, brother and sister were in D1's. The JS is a wonderful cabin, we could not have been happier. The walk in closet was a surprise, we never had stuff spread around the room with this amenity. There was so much space that I never felt crowded, and since I suffer from claustrophobia this was particularly nice. Our attendant was very good, although not very visible. The cabin was kept clean and she made sure that there was always a beer or two for my husband in the little refrigerator. This cabin is a similar category as the Celebrity's Sky Suite but we prefer the JS. It does not have a butler, but the attendant did a great job and once we have cruised one more time with RCCL we will have access to the concierge lounge and those few things that a butler did for us will be taken care of that way.
