Sail Date: May 2006

12 nt- Alaska from San Francisco - 20 May 06

Embarkation: Thank goodness we had two thing going for us. First we are Captains Club Members and Second we booked Concierge Class. This made getting on the ship amazingly easy. Looking a the line going to the ship I think it could have taken at least 2 to 3 hours to get on board. However we were able to skip all that and were on board and in our room in about 20 minutes. This was great as we were able to get a nice lunch and just got back to our cabin in time for the Safety (life boat) drill. Once that was complete we were able to return to our cabin for the sail away from the convenience of our balcony.

Dining: We were not disappointed at all. Having breakfast delivered to our stateroom every morning was a nice extra that we didn't use last time. Everything was delivered within the time asked and the hot food was hot and the cold food was cold. My husband liked that he could get smoked salmon every morning for breakfast. Lunch time was mostly buffet. I liked that they varied the menu every day and had a theme (Mexican, American, Italian, etc.). On the first night we purchased our Soda stickers for the entire trip. Best money we spent on the entire cruise. We tended to eat lunch in the same area every day, so we got to know the waiter for that area fairly well. As soon as he saw us the first thing he did was get us each a diet soda and then scope out what the sugar free dessert was (my husband is diabetic) and bring some to the table. We ate in the main dinning room every night except one. The wait staff was very accommodating of my husband's dietary needs. The food was delivered promptly. I really don't have any complaints all of the food we had tasted great. I loved the mushroom soup and was glad it was offered more than once.
