Sail Date: May 2006

My friend and I (young 50s) cruised on the 5/25 sailing of the Sensation. This was my 8th Carnival cruise but first on this ship. Please do not be scared off by some poor reviews. The ship is in great condition and the staff was wonderful.

We drove from Jacksonville, FL to Pt. Canaveral, arriving around 1 p.m. We had VIP check in since we'd booked a veranda suite. Embarkation was extremely easy and we were definitely treated like VIPs. I've booked suites before but this was the first time I remember there being a separate line for us (other than check in).

Went immediately to our room to drop off our carry ons. The only problem we encountered was that there was leftover food in our fridge which had started to spoil. A quick phone call to our room steward took care of the problem and she couldn't have been nicer the rest of the cruise. The veranda suites are fine for 2 people but not nearly as roomy as the Cat 12s. We really liked the location and the beds are wonderful with the cozy comforters.
