Island Princess May 5, 2006

We sailed on the Island Princess repositioning cruise because it was a repositioning cruise and went to great places! Blame it on the Jones Act or whatever but rarely do we get a chance to cruise to ports in California, Alaska and British Columbia with enough time in port to enjoy them, and do it all on the same cruise.

We sailed from San Pedro, tendered into Santa Barbara, docked in San Francisco, tendered into Sitka, tendered then docked in Ketchikan, docked in Victoria, and disembarked in Vancouver. We took a ship sponsored tour to Butchart Gardens in Victoria, but everywhere else we just did our own thing which was mostly just walking around as everything was close by. This was a great 9 day cruise as far as itinerary and also for almost perfect weather. That should make for the most perfect cruise ever, but of course all great things always seem to have a downside.
