Ship Facts: Carnival Conquest Review (by Cruise Critic!) | Carnival Conquest Deck Plans
Carnival Conquest - Western Caribbean

There were six of us who went on this cruise, three adult couples. We left Houston at 10:00 a.m. on 05/07/06 headed for Galveston for a 4:00 p.m. departure.

Embarkation went smoothly. We parked at the EZ Cruise Parking lot and took the shuttle to the terminal. A porter assisted us with our baggage and on we went to check-in. We were in the line with those who registered online for the Fun Pass so waiting was out of the question, as the line went fast.

All of our cabins were located on the same floor right next to each other. We were on the Main Deck, 2nd floor. Upon arriving to our cabins we had an itinerary of the activity for the day in the room. We also received a copy of the decks layout to assist us in getting around the ship.

Dining was the best of all. We had a 6:15 p.m. dinner setting in the Monet dining room. The food there was tremendous. I would rate it a 10 every day. Our waiter was great. After the first setting they knew our likes and dislikes, we didnt have to ask for anything. The buffet is also great, breakfast, lunch and dinner. As well as the 24 hour grill and pizzeria. We ate when we werent even hungry just too sample everything.

The shows were Las Vegas style and great. The clubs were awesome. I missed out on the stand up comedian, but heard he was great. The ships activities were fun and funny. We had a hairiest chest man contest. We also had a Marti Gras night. The Lido deck (Deck 9) is where everything goes on and you just have a ball.

Service from our steward was fabulous. Sherwin is the BEST! Room cleaned no matter what time of day you were not in it. I loved the towel animals they make for you each night when they turn down your bed.

Monday night was the first formal night and we took pictures galore. I bought all of mine. It was a night to mingle and meet new people.

We hit the first port on Wednesday. We were at Montego Bay. Our excursion included the Sunset Beach Resort and Margaritaville. Great place for fun in the sun and to pick your own sea shells as souvenirs to take home.

On Thursday we were at Grand Cayman. The shops are awesome. Our excursion included a tour of Jamaica, a place called HELL, the turtle farm and the Rum Cake Factory. The rum cake is good. HELL is just that HELL.

On Friday, we hit Cozumel and our excursion was the Fiesta Party Boat to Playa Del Mia. This is a must do. All the margaritas and beer you can drink, beware of the souvenir shop, they try to sell you things that are too high, but you can bargain them down to almost nothing. Playa Del Mia is great. Lots of fun things to do and great food. The water is clear and blue.

Saturday it was a day a sea and we relaxed on deck 10 Promenade.

Sunday it was back to Galveston and we were well rested. Disembarkation was fine until we got to our luggage. We found out the hard way that you have to stand in a Porter line if you have more luggage than you can handle before you can go through Customs, but after that youre home free.

In Summary, Yes I would do this again, but probably for a 4 or 5 day cruise instead of 7-day!
